Creator of the underground comics-series Bijlmerboys. Illustrator. Colorist. Tinkerer. Painter, using acrylic pain(t) on canvas. Human(ish/ist) Born just in time for the heatwave of 1975. Fell on his head properly at the age of five, and has been acting strangely ever since. Initially desiring to become a comic-artist, he figured by the age of six that declaring oneself to be an artist would provide more flexibility and less questions asked, should he ever find himself really fed up with drawing comics. Which is pretty conceivable if you envision yourself doing that, and only that, all the time. Yiri lives in Amsterdam, where he shares his life with two cats (full-time) and fellow comic-creator and wife Margreet de Heer (part-time), the other part of her life spent in Germany, also shared with a cat over there. |
